In my mind Valentin Barco could perfectly fit the Grimaldo's role on this team. He is originally a left back but played midfielder this season, being able to play inside like Grimaldo might give him an advantage here. And i do see Quenda being the RWB and having a huge role this season, he could be his Frimpong at Chelsea.
Think Reece James definitely needs to be at wingback, so good going forward. In addition to that we ideally need 3 tall CBs given we don't have height anywhere else on the pitch but I do hope they move Fofana on and look for a better CB.

While I do think the squad is mostly well equipped for Xabi's system, I do think Enzo's profile is a bit misunderstood in the vid. He's never been great operating in a pivot close to Caicedo. His lack of mobility really hurts him there and I think allowing him to drift wide and seek out space is where he's been at his best. I'd argue Santos has looked better close to Caicedo than Enzo has.
Quenda in the system you outlined would be very interesting, because apparently the reason he wanted out under Amorim was because he didn't want to play as a wingback, but obviously the wingback role in Alonso's system is different to that in an Amorim system

with the buildup from the keeper and grimaldo being the more conservative full back, you could see alonso flipping it at chelsea having reece james as the conservative rwb and quenda being the more front footed at lwb
Fantastic analysis. It's unfortunate that Enzo and Cucu seem to be off, but I was unsure that they are an optimal fit for Xabi's system. Hopefully that the replacements are good. It'll also be interesting to see how Barco fits in, since he can play lwb or cm.
