He should get a lot more assists, imo. Some of the misses I saw from the goal-scoring chances he creates, were criminal.
Every great team needs a workhorse in midfield. Fergie had Ji Sung Park. Unsung heroes who make the team successful
As always aj right on the money 🔥
Ederson is an 8 or higher in build up but is more of 6 covering the transition in possession when we want to play high this is a great choice.
I wouldn't be surprised to see a Bruno-less team set up as a 4-3-3 with the new DM-Kobbie-Ederson trio acting as a Chelsea Destroyer-Controller-Attacking mid setup. Ederson's attacking thrust is basically an old-school Lampard AM driving from deep to get the loose balls the main attackers are marked out of picking up.
Add Matteus Fernandes (£60-70m) and Baleba (£50m) and mid looks pretty good.
Ederson is a real workhorse and his touchmap per 90 min is amazing. But he is more than that. He is techically quite good and much better than Ugarte on the ball. As you said he is an elite presser one of the best. I like him and he will be noticed when he is on the field.
Great signing, the partnetship between Mainoo, ederson, bruno, cunha, mbeumo...wow worthwhile
I think Ederson is getting underrated. I haven’t watched loads of him, but from what I have seen, he looks like a player who covers Rice-type distance and has real speed. His tackle success looks very strong, and I like his technique. He seems comfortable on the ball too. He also plays in a team that has more possession than, say, Forest and Elliot Anderson, so you have to take that into account. But would I pay over £100m for Anderson when we could get Ederson for £35m plus £5m in add-ons? For me, it’s a no-brainer. I think he fits the Premier League, and he feels like a very INEOS-type signing, especially alongside Cunha, Mbeumo, Sesko and Lammens. If we then get Fernandes from West Ham for around £50m and add another midfielder, it’s starting to look very good. I’d give the signing an 8/10.
I would say that people underappreciated Casemiro's goal scoring and passing game, and his press resistance. It wasn't required or part of the tactic at Real. I think Ederson will be better than what we've seen at Atalanta I would say he's a 7/10 signing, an upgrade in every way on Ugarte, and can fill in for either midfield position depending on partners and rotation.
He seems to have similar weeknesses to Ugarte, which became his Achilles heel since he came in. Which is worrying
His highlights are great and if what you say about his workrate and ball retention are true then i think it’s an amazing signing of a mature selfless player
my problem with the ball crasher side is if he crashes from the right he might get into mbeumo's way in the box and bruno preferred half space just outside of the area. If he crashes from the left where Cunha will cut in we'll be way too congested in a small part of the pitch
I find it crazy when i see some people say he´s slow when pace is probably his biggest asset.
Great vid AJ. Will you be making a one on our left back options? Hall, Svensson, Ryerson, Brown, Raum, Truffert, Mitchell, Robinson etc? I'm personally gutted we missed out on ait-nouri - he was a big part of cunhas success at wolves.
Park Ji Sung era revive ❤❤❤
Never get excited for an player even if it's Bruno when he's just signing for a new club, especially a big club. Just wait for what he'll offer when brought on then you know exactly whether to enter in excited mode or relaxing mode. This will save you so much happiness.
Other than taking a punt on an unknown player hard to see many better options, in this price bracket assuming we are buying at least 1 more midfielder at a much higher cost, you could argue someone like Berge would be safer but Ederson has more potential, I know little about the player but from what I have seen he is a definite upgrade on Ugarte, given the number of games we could be playing next season I am all for this signing, it is good sense, it could be just okay but it could also be brilliant only time will tell
Him and kobbie will be good as kobbie can cover ground but if kobbies press does get beaten Ederson won’t be far behind to win the ball
Ugarte 2.0 😂
