First counter take (RE UPLOAD) I honestly don’t think this was down to Enrique’s tactic. Arsenal nullified everything PSG threw at them tactically, as they only had one clear chance that Barcola missed. Kvara’s individual brilliance brought them back into the game and pens are mostly 50-50

I think people are being too critical of PSG’s tactics. Arsenal were extremely disciplined and essentially parked the bus after scoring. Their defense left very little space for PSG’s attackers to exploit, which made things difficult. PSG had a lot of possession, but at times it became too passive. For me, what they lacked was a true playmaker who could break Arsenal’s defensive lines and increase the tempo. Had PSG moved the ball quicker in and around the box, they might have created more chances and scored more goals. Rather than criticizing PSG’s tactics, the focus should be on the fact that they didn’t do enough to deserve the win. Credit to PSG, though. Hopefully they’ll learn from this game that things won’t always go their way and that they need to find solutions when faced with a well-organized defense.

Luis Enrique is a modern genius, he’s a blend of incredible man management, tactical genius and a great human being. Definitely going to be in convos of top managers OAT if he can complete that 3-peat and perhaps win another sextuple!

The Game ended in penalty shot out and Manduke denied penalty. The story would be different. What puzzle is solved???

Its interesting how the state of wingers has evolved so far that there is emphasis placed on wingers mere possession, as all it takes for a quality winger to beat his man for a calm defensive system to be under attack. In general the game was probably one of the least entertaining games ive watched in a long time, and i do think it was partly due to the lack of risks PSG seemed to be taking that i think the should have. Things like deep runs from mendes or Hakimi into the center, or pushing Ruiz or Vitinha into the ten could have been effective at somewhat breaking down the center block. Kvara didnt play close to his normal caliber, in general there were very few standout individual performances, other than maybe Doue who seemed to be the only one interested in taking the game into his own hands.

It wasn’t really much of a puzzle though, just a disciplined low block that gave no space. In that scenario there’s no puzzle to solve, you just keep pressure and brute force it and it’s up to some individual moments of brilliance. Not much of that happened so it was down to penalties.

PSG didn’t push Nuno into the LW and that’s what killed them. The “free flowing risk takers of Europe” didn’t want to leave the possibility of Arsenal’s RW on a counter without Nuno’s pace on the recover. They also played just as conservatively.

I think one thing you miss is that Dembele and Doue would go over to the left with Kvara in the second half. This helped them deal with the 2v1 and helped them find an opening that led to the penalty
