2026 Toyota Corolla LE | Honest Review and 0-60

Thank you for doing a "base model" review. I'm retired, and can't afford all the "bells and whistles" (as we used to say back in the Stone age lol) and just need basic transportation to do old man stuff. Can't go wrong with a Corolla. I've had three of them in my lifetime, and they were all great cars. Looks like the tradition continues. Thanks again!

If you focus on base models, your viewership will expand greatly. There are huge numbers of us who have no interest in the exaggerated prices of the upscale models and prefer the high value base models. In my view, this LE Corolla is the best value in the automotive world. Cheers!

I just bought a silver one of these a month ago. The interior is black, and not two-tone though. The first week I had it, my 16 year old son and I took it on a 1,500 mile trip. Loaded with two suitcases, a toolbox, a cooler, his bmx bicycle and equipment we were able to get an indicated average mpg of 45.1 mpg on the highway. The lane keep assist as well as the other safety features worked flawlessly. I do wish the center console was slightly larger and that the rear doors opened a bit further. But for 22k, this car definitely punches way above it's weight class. I'm more than thrilled with it.

I love this 12th generation Corolla and would love to buy one. Only problem is that my 2012 Corolla LE refuses to die! Has 185k miles on it and still runs like brand new. At this rate, I probably won't need a new car until the 14th generation is out.

I just bought a new Toyota Corolla LE Yesterday and I don't regret it for One second. I think this was a Great Investment 👍 too.

I have a 2024 LE. The ECO setting is awesome. It is a little sluggish taking off from a red light, but I'm honestly getting 42-50 mpg in warm weather. Great car.

Great review! Everything I needed, nothing I didn't 😉 Also restores my faith in there actually *is* a new, safe, well-equipped vehicle one can buy (and would want to drive) for under $30k. Whew!

Like posted in other comments: once the brand (any of them) is off the transport ship the US distributor association puts on package A or B for crap you don’t want on a car before it is delivered to a car lot. This adds $500 to $1500 to the OTD price. No way around it. Even on the West Coast. Just another added cost scam to inflate the cost and build in profit. I hate automobile associations and dealerships.

I cross shopped this car but the cheapest OTD I got across 4 dealers in my area was $27,500 for this base trim after all taxes, fees, registration, etc. I ended up getting the 2026 Nissan Sentra SV with convenience package for $24,000 flat OTD after all taxes, fees, etc. Steal of a deal imo, and it has tons of more features than the Corolla. I paid an extra $1k for a convenience package on it so $23,000 + $1,000 and the Sentra adds heated seats, heated steering wheel, heated mirrors, LED turn signals, ambient lighting, rearview autodim mirror, walk away lock/unlock, and 6 speakers for $1k. Glad to see people getting killer deals and loving their Corollas but I unfortunately couldn't get a deal. Maybe if I could get it for $21k/$22k I'd consider it, but even then the features offered is a lot less than competitors like the Sentra I got. Initially I wanted the Corolla Hybrid but unfortunately, the lowest any Toyota dealer will go here is $29.7k for that one. Toyotas where I live in Florida sell usually in transit or within a few days of arrival so it removed all my negotiating power, they were unwilling to move at all. They're good cars and reliable but mannn Toyota tax is just crazy lol.

I have a 2013 Toyota Camry SE. This car feels like a love letter to it. I love this little car ❤

Great car if you are after cheap miles or for a second car in a family, a student or new graduate, a commuter, a senior. My wife has one and son has one - both have longer commutes. Years of hassle free cheap miles…..cheap maintenance too. Reasonable part costs too…….tires, brake pads etc We live in the snow zone too and with winter tires it’s capable on the snow. If you are comparing it vs a different car class you will be disappointed but for what it is, a compact sedan, it’s a great reliable cheap miles car.

This is the exact model I am considering buying. In California I see Corolla LE sedans coming from Mississippi and Toyota City. Excellent review as always.

The other major consideration is the reliability factor which is the standard by which other cars are measured. It is in fact an excellent car that will last a very long time and has very high resale value because of the reliability.

Never can go wrong with a Corolla or a Camry! 👍

It has a gear CVT which I hear is much better than the others. By the way I just got my brand new 2026 and white and I absolutely love it.

I have the 2022 model. Certainly quite a respectable car. It has everything you need, nothing that you do not need. The rear seat may be on the tight side for some. If you have the front seat moved forward a little, you'll have more legroom. My LE has the 1.8L 4 cylinder engine that produces 139 HP. Not a lot of power, but certainly plenty enough for everyday driving. The current hybrid version has the same amount of horsepower. Definitely worth considering. Sorry for the person who posted in the comments about the Nissan Sentra that he bought. Though decent, it is not up to the level of the Toyota Corolla. Reliabilty has not been the best for the Nissan Sentra for quite some time.

This is a great travel car. The hybrid would benefit a city driver but the LE in this configuration would be a perfect budget travel vehicle for someone in a mixed driving area. I rented one and 43-44 mpg going 65-75 was no problem.

0W8 oil is wild! Great video though 👍

With mark up and add ons, it’s probably closer to $26,000 honestly. The dealerships are destroying the brand.
