The big difference is that Mitsubishi engine is way more reliable than the one you found on the Nissan, Mitsubishi uses a tuned version of the same engine found in the Eclipse Cross which have been very reliable.
They’ve got to hurry up with bringing the Delica to America.

Mitsubishi for some reason always keeps me kind of interested in what they’re doing. I want them to succeed. I’d probably pass on this particular version but I do have a genuine interest in the PHEV powertrain. I really just want it to have some better options & be more customizable Also not fully related but we rented an eclipse cross last year, and one thing that bugged me was how INSANELY BRIGHT the headlights were with no way to dimming. I felt bad blinding people at night lol, I’m not sure if the Outlander is the same but that choice is irritating as hell
The premium Yamaha sound system is available as an option on the mid-grade SE trim.
That Yamaha system and the warranty makes it better than the rogue. I still don't like the engine, I think the naturally aspirated one will outlast the rogue engine and this one too, but it's still better than a turbo 3 cylinder. Hopefully they sell
For being almost 3800lbs it really doesn't seem like they thought about the amount torque they're going to need when there are a few passengers that the car needs to lug around as well.
People dont forget that the rogue uses the nissan made variable compression 3 cylinder, it makes more horsepower yes, however the engine literally self destructs with total engine failure. The vc turbo engine in the rogue is on recall. The outlander uses the 4b40 turbo engine from the eclipse cross, that engine is made by Mitsubishi and is reliable. The 4b40 in the outlander also has upgrades to accomodate more boost and higher horse power , such as a liquid intercooler. So its not just about adding more boost to the engine, reliability was taken into account.
Keep the Auto Start/Stop On, because the mild hybrid will restart the engine instead of the starter motor. Is quite smooth when restarting, basically no vibration
Mild hybrid? Why not just go full/regular hybrid, just the look of the engine, size of it, it has to feel underpowered.
I Got myself the 2022 SEL trim when they first came out and let me tell you this vehicle is reliable i still have this SUV today in 2026 with no issues of any kind and I'm vary happy that my wallet is happy too. Good Job Mitsubishi

They should make an XL model of the outlander that is longer than that one have a third row rather than this one.

Like it better than the boring Mazdas.
It's insane to think the replacement engine is a lot older than the engine it replaces. It's insane to have a mild hybrid and a PHEV but doesn't offer anything in between.
So, a dinky 1.5 liters turbo VC and "fantastic" CVT. Being handsome isn't going to help a lot.
As a diehard DSMer back in the day, I miss Mitsubishi. Wish they'd bring the Eclipse GSX and the Evo back. RIP 4G63T. Gone but never forgottten.
