i can only convey my experience with my 2024 Trax 1RS that i purchased on march 13th 2024, it is my second car, so i have low miles just turned 12,000 miles, so far i love this little car, mine is very good on gas, i drive it the way it should be driven i dont beat my cars. only a recall on infotainment system back at dealer and no problems, i did not wait for 7500 miles for oil and filter, it has gone every 5,000 miles for service, 3 services so far, to be safe. the car is garage kept and i keep it like new, people complain about power but all i can say is it has more than enough power for me when you need it, fun car to drive and especially for the price

I feel like this was a great car for GM. But they need to figure out a power train that's more appealing. Just from a longevity and ease of maintenance part.
I love my Trax LT. It's equipped with most available options except for the sunroof. Some reviewers complain about the interior, but I find it perfectly fine. I don't feel the armrest or door panels to be too hard. I came out of a Maverick and this is a beautiful upgrade by comparison, definitely better materials, styling, and quality. I find the 1.2L to be spunky and fun to drive. I get good mileage driving mostly stop/go to and from work and easily jump to over 30 with spirited highway driving. I love the sound of this engine, and again, it's spunky for what it is. As far as cargo, I was able to squeeze the 5-drawer tool cart I bought at a discount tool store inside with only removing the cargo cover. Better than I expected to fit in it. I'd love it if they provided the RS trim with the 1.3L turbo for a little extra spunk or really went all out and dropped in the 2.0L turbo from the Blazer. I'd also love a more performance-oriented suspension too, something to make it even more capable in the turns along with better bolstering in the front seats so that you can make good use of it. I am considering a Trailblazer or stepping up to an Equinox when my lease is up so that I can have the AWD for our winters, but I find I am really liking my Trax and can easily opt for snow tires if I choose. At my age getting in and out is a bit of a challenge, but not something that would prevent me from buying a car I enjoy driving; so, I can say that I would still consider another Trax too. That red looks sharp on the RS trim and would also on the Activ too.
I love mine. I set out to actually buy a Trailblazer but didn't want to pay that much at that time and decided to lease the Trax. I had already researched it before hand, so nothing about it came as a surprise. The only surprise was how much I grew to love it. I wish it was available with a manual, it would just be so much more fun to drive.
I like nearly everything about this car but the powertrain frightens me. A turbo 1.2L 3 cylinder engine using a WET timing belt. 137 hp vs 3000 pounds. Economy cars 15-20 years ago had 2L to 2.5L naturally aspirated port injected engines in the 150 to 170 hp range that will likely outlive this 1.2L engine/model.
I have a 26 2RS minus the sunroof and phone charger. Had them but never used either so saved about a grand. This is an attractive vehicle that looks like it costs far more. The turbo charged 3 cylinder performs well married to a six speed automatic and no underperforming cvt. Don't need 4 wheel drive! The cheap plastics in the interior aren't plush but look more expensive. The dash is full of features and is high def. Excellent standard 6 speaker stereo, comfortable upscale leather like seating included. Lots of interior space overall feels like a larger car. Holds the road well with adequate power, I'm 71 and not a speedster anymore so the passing performance with the turbo is sufficient. I've only got around 1500 miles on it and try to keep it cherry. I think you'll be impressed. I am at least for now!

I just don't think this car will look very appealing after 6 years of ownership with a small engine turbo and a wet timing belt, but initially, it looks appealing
I'll take the Mazda CX-30 over this. It's better in every way. Will also be more reliable in the long run...as in after the payments end.
If this car offered AWD and had a more powerful engine I would be all for it
You buy these vehicle to get from point A to Point B with relative safely and not set any speed records.

Ngl as an uber car, it’s not that bad I just rode passenger with uber in this and it’s pretty spacious in the back for two people maybe three
Good vehicle for someone with a short commute, retiree, etc. The mpg is low for a 3 banger. At this price i'm probably looking at an HRV , a compact suv with a very dependable motor/trans.
We have one. No problems. But I'm very picky about oil. Never goes 3000 without changing. 50 mpg at 55 to 65. 70 and above, forget it - 35. Belong to forum and never see engine failures. Checked before we bought. 2 possible failures. Still not seeing it . Use Chevron gas only. Have had many cars. Never any problems. Just Chevy transmissions are spotty at best. Trax is far quicker than our Mitsubishi outlander at any speed. Camaro 3.6, RALLY ART, caviler 2.4, Mazda 3, f150 2.7, ram 2006 5.7 modified. No problems of any kind. Cruz no engine problems - transmission junk. Venture van transmission junk. 1972 Dodge charger 400 modified some. 110000 miles no problems.

Good review. Yes, the Trax is a good value and I have both a 2025 ACTV and a 2026 LT version. Found the 2025 Trax to be reliable, fun to drive, and loaded for the price with extras and especially those safety features. Was so pleased with the 2025 that we bought another this year. Only problem we had with either one was that the OnStar software update was corrupted so we had a check engine light on and that was fixed under warranty with a quick visit to the dealer. Pretty much your review was spot-on.
