I own a 2025 Honda Civic hybrid, and I really like it: 50+ mpg and a nice driving experience. Both the Toyota and Honda hybrid systems are impressive feats of engineering. I don’t think you can go wrong with either.

We went with the Mazda CX-50 hybrid for two reasons. First of course was their use of the bulletproof Toyota hybrid system but almost as importantly the vehicle availability. Toyota dealers around us would be happy to put us on their list for a new RAV4 and would be even happier to move us up the list if we were willing to purchase "mandatory upgrade" (paint protection, glass etching, nitrogen filled tires...). Mazda dealers on the other hand had the CX-50 hybrids in stock and were willing to sell them below MSRP. As much as we love Toyotas we found their lack of availability to force us to another brand.
Nothing can beat a Toyota hybrid in terms of it's overall value.
I have a 2017 Toyota Camry LE with 73k miles. Bought it in 2020 for $17,990 with 29k miles one owner. 9 years old this year and I've only replaced the battery, ac belt and wipers. My goal is to own it until 2030 then get a Rav4.
We have a ‘24 Honda CRV hybrid and ‘26 Toyota Prius PHEV and both have been very reliable and fuel efficient! Very happy and confident with them as both brands have been making hybrids for over 2 decades! Funny, the backdrop of this video showing both my vehicles😂

I do not buy Hybrid unless it’s a TOYOTA. My 2002 Toyota Hybrid was still running like new before parting a few years ago without any big issue. Battery, engine, eCVT , AC, Suspension despite over a quarter of million miles. My current 2012 Prius (260K miles); 2021 Sienna Hybrid ((134K miles) are running like new especially the 2021 Toyota Sienna has been running day in and day out for 5 years as every day vehicle and double duty as road trip vehicle and still running like just off the dealer’s lot zero issues for 5 years is simply amazing 🤩
Owning a 11th gen Civic. Prior to that I had a Lexus is300h. Loving both.
I just bought a standard Subaru Forester instead of the hybrid. I can’t justify the higher price tag for only 5-6 more mpg.
This has nothing to do with hybrids but one thing I like about Honda is that around 2013 they stopped using expensive battery powered TPMS in each tire. Instead they use the vehicle stability control to measure the speed of each tire to indicate if a tire is underinflated. A small advantage if you keep your vehicle for a longer than normal time. Replacing them can be expensive.
I knew without watching the video that Toyota would be king, as I know you are a big fan… 😉. And rightly so…. As an owner of 3 Priuses over the last 20 years battling Toronto traffic, and they are wonderfully engineered vehicles and drivetrains. Fully agree that they have the best hybrid drivetrain on the market! 😎
I owned a 2012 Camry hybrid. It got up to 46 mpg, and was incredibly smooth and quiet. Great car from a great company.
If one brand has perfected hybrids for 20+ years... why are people still gambling on newer more complex systems?

Honda hybrid CR-V
Hi, we have Corolla hybrid 1,8 sedan. Bought just a year ago. An Excellent car. Not a race horse, but fuel efficient, easy to maintain. No complaint so far. We have 2 Toyotas and second one is Avensis 1,8 Nat asp petrol car. Easy and great as well as Corolla. (Would say even better)
