9 Months with the 7.3 Godzilla – Is It All It's Cracked Up to Be?

i have 2024 f350 4.30 gears i pull 35ft gooseneck with equipment shorter distances just weighted yesterday gross 30k gets it done truck,trailer,load i do not want to go back to a diesel just put gas in and go. had mine just under 3 yrs

You think the better mileage with the diesel averages out to the cheaper gasoline. Actually for the $12,000 diesel option you could buy about 10 years of gasoline and don’t forget to mention the cost of DEF like you and everybody else does.

Back before the mid 1980's...everyone used big block gas engines and pulled everything just fine. Replacement of the fuel system alone on the diesel if it happens to fail (and they do) cost more than an entire engine replacement on the 7.3.

My 2025 7.3Godzilla on 37" tires is awesome, unlimited power. She does have a Drinking Problem though and we are hoping the weekly AA Classes will help :)

No one ever talks about the average speeds at which they tow on these gasser loving videos. Get your gasser & a powerstroke both hooked to the same camper & hit I-80 in Nebraska going against a 20 mph wind at 75 mph & see which one walks away from the other one, especially when climbing hills while bucking that 20 mph wind. The gasser doesn’t have the cahunas to keep up in those conditions. But if you’re okay going 55 mph all day then sure, a gasser is great for you

The fuel cost is the same, I don’t know how people can ignore the fact that the 6.7 will do 20+ mpg on the highway all day and burn 50% less fuel hooked up. Oil changes? It’s $80 for 3.5 gallons of full syn T6 at Walmart on top of a $15 filter, so that’s moot. The diesel will hold exponentially more resale value on top of the inherent 10k bump the engine gives you as the truck ages, so that’s a non starter as well. The 7.3 is a great solution for non-highway rigs that have lots of stop and go driving and don’t want to deal with completing regens effectively like landscapers/plow trucks/rental vehicles or when the upfront cost of the 6.7 is just too much. If non of this applies to you, buy the diesel.

Gasser is the way to go these days!!! I love my 6.4 Hemi and lifetime mpg average towing is 8.7 mpgs! No reason to go with a diesel unless I’m towing over 15k#!

I have a 2026 F-350 single cab Dually STX / FX-4. 4.30 gears ! Absolutely luv this truck especially when towing my camper!

Kalkaska County Michigan here. Cool you saw the ark too! We loved it. We have a 2020 with 7.3 godzilla we haul a truck camper. We have hauled it coast to coast. We have almost 85,000 miles no issues. Beautiful truck. Safe travels God bless

I picked up a 2025 F250 Lariat 7.3 Godzilla in January of this year and it has been great. I swapped out the factory 34gallon fuel tank for the Transfer Flow 58 gallon fuel tank and now when I tow I don't have to stop as much. Truck definitely has the power and hills are no problem. Great video and enjoy your truck.

I owned a 2022 with the 7.3 and had plenty of power to pull my camper. After owning for four years I sold it and bough the 6.7. While I had the power, the truck constantly downshifted on interstate inclines and the range was awful. I also got tired of navigating the gas pumps with all the cars 2-3 times a day on long road trips. My 6.7 rips down the interstate in 10th gear and shifts much less and I'm able to fuel at the diesel pumps with the big trucks. If I only towed locally, I'd of kept the 7.3 but since I take long road trips the 6.7 has worked out better. YMMV

What's you average MPG unloaded city and highway driving?

I’ve got a 6.7 powerstroke ford and a 2016 duramax truck both are as strong as a truck could ever possibly need to be and super effecient ford get 16-18 duramax gets 20-22 that’s with less than 2,000 lbs on payload you put a trailer on them and they go down to 13-14

I own 2025 f250 tremor pkg w/ the 7.3, towed a 12000 travel trailer from sd to ny. I agree with review, hands down was impressed the whole trip, b&w conituum hitch.

Any issues fitting truck and fifth wheel in the gas pump lanes. I’m think of getting a similar set up and this is my concern. Diesel truck and fifth wheel fit the big truck fuel lane with ease.

For the algorithm and for informational purposes for your audience. What gear ratio does your truck have 3.55, 3.73 or 4.30? Nice looking truck, I have a 2022 in Atlas Blue, and I am tire shopping. I also live in Michigan and have my own channel with lots of Super Duty and 7.3 content. I am very interested int he KO3's as well.

I also have the Weather Tech window shades. They work great on the front, But, on the rear they did not stay very well. If you have the rear window down too far , in situations where to help ventilate heat out after sitting in the hot summer sun, & moving down the road over 40mph....they defect and rattle down the window opening. If a cross breeze is present, those things can ripe right out. full disclosure....This happened to me on my 19' f150, so the fitment on your F250 maybe different? IDK Just be aware how far you lower those rear windows and at what speed travel with them down.

Nice review, do you find that with the shorter bed your stopping for gas often while towing ? The longer bed gets a 48 gallon tank which would help with less gas stops.

Did you noticed any difference with the tremor valance?
