My best friend had this car in high school. It's a Lotus Europa Special. It says it right there when they show a close-up shot of the hood. The phrase "Lotus Opel" typically refers to the high-performance Opel Lotus Omega sedan (built under GM's ownership in the early 1990s), while the Lotus Europa Special is a classic, mid-engine two-seater sports car from the 1970s. Never trust the internet. Geez.

It is a Lotus Europa. Opel? F1 race car? Bwahahahaha! Lotus stopped making the car in 75 so there was no 79 model (and they refer to it as a 74 later in the video). Renault made the engines in the early models until Lotus switched to a Ford base twin cam. Another total AI fail!

This car is probably worth closer to 45-50k....maybe a little more than that since it's in such excellent condition with low miles.

I saw one when i was a kid in the early 70's and wanted one. My mother had a 62 Morgan +4 right hand drive. She got it in 67 and sold it when i turned 16.

One of my work pals had one in Yellow. He had it for two months and did do a straight swap for a Mustang . The same car type of Ford that was in the movie Buillit . Then he needed money fast and wanted to sell it to me . But crash it running from the police .
