I did a 4,000 mile trip in my Model Y and basically I'd let FSD drive for around 2 hours and then it would pull into a Supercharger where I'd plug it in for 10-12 minutes and back on the road. Works great. Relaxed and enjoy the scenery - no stress and safer. Nothing beats a road trip in a Tesla with FSD - NOTHING.

Nailed it at the end. It’s a mind set. Most don’t realize that this vehicle will fit their lifestyle just as good as a gas vehicle. I don’t own one yet but soon will.
Tried to respond to points quickly in order: - $7 Elec vs $70 Gas bills. - Charge at home, no prob. - 15 min at charge station while I take a human food/tinkle break. - Our handicap mobility vehicle. - Ins milage went down 1/2 on Lemonade ins(OR) from same insurance from traded in RAV4. - What we save on gas as will pay for a new set of tires over tire life years. - Road trips are great and much more relaxing. - Price is comparable to any good car. - Research is king to find out the truth.
Every time someone starts telling me how bad EV's are, I ask what type of EV they own. Usually they reply that they never have, and never will own one!! Our EV ownership has been fantastic. I'm a car guy, own several other classic's and 4x4's, also worked in vehicle testing and development for a major manufacturer. I find that EV's are far better than ICE on almost every way, especially the sheer driving experience. Ironically our ICE car's are plugged in more than the EV, because they aren't driven enough to keep the battery topped up. We started out with a 2012 Nissan Leaf which suffered bad battery degradation, and unfortunately this is what many people's mindset is still stuck on. We have a 2015 Tesla and it's still going strong after 11 years, with very little range loss. I had the screen upgrade done, but the only failure has been the Battery Coolant Heater needed to be replaced. The car still drove and charged at home, but refused to Supercharge. This cost $1100 Australian (maybe $700 USD) to have it replaced. Tyres last as long as any ICE car I've owned, however our Tesla is AWD, so that would reduce wear.

I did a trip of 4,500 miles across the U.S. using FSD (supervised) for most of it. It worked well with few interventions. Most interventions were due to my nervousness. Awesome!!

I love it when people tell me that I won’t be able to go anywhere in my Tesla in the winter. My first ev road trip was from Ohio to Phoenix and back in January a month after I picked up my ‘25 model 3.
I haven’t had one person that has experienced FSD in my Tesla not come away amazed. Not one. Even EV hater friends and family think it’s unbelievable. Most now want a Tesla for this specific reason.
I was on vacation in Phoenix last week. Rented a 2026 Model Y for three days. I drove (well, it drove) 600 miles in 90+ degree weather with no problems. The car drives nice, handles well and has great acceleration. I've been a professional auto mechanic (ICE) for 30 years. My next car will be a Tesla.

I have been using FSD for years now. Version 14 is awesome. I have two biggest gripes are inaccurate navigation (only sometimes but yes) and parking in handicap spots. And my usage is almost same i.e 2k miles per month.. also, I have taken a road trip from Maine to Georgia. And it was flawless. I probably had to take over 3-4 times from FSD. the car planned the route including charging stops. Best road trip ever.
These people should think of it charging electric car, just like charging your phone.
I have not been to the gas station since 2021. It is very convenient. I charge my car every other day.
