Project Motor Racing - Multiplayer Ranked Race - AUS V8 Class

#projectmotorracing Ranked Race online - Round 4 Event: Falcon Pro Cup (Australian Supercars Championship) Car: Ford Falcon FG V8 Supercar Track: Kyalami - Grand Prix This is the fourth round of the Australian Supercars Championship Event which takes place at Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit. On a short distance track such as Kyalami, I made sure to shorten the gear ratios. However, figuring out suspension was a big challenge for me as I didn't have a clear directive on how to set up my Ford Falcon specifically for this track. Plus I wasn't aware of the restrictions on a few components like the anti-roll bars which complicated matters more. Kyalami is a track populated with several medium- and high-speed corners, so I felt improving overall handling of my Falcon was a must. I wanted to set anti-roll bars slightly stiffer on the rear axle to improve rotation while cornering. Determining the ride height for both axles on my Falcon was a tough task. Setting the height of the front end in particular was an adventure because there is an inherent trade-off involved with the setting of the front toe. I want front toe to be near neutral or slightly pointed out (negative). However, the ride height must be raised here in order for this to happen. Then I chose to lower rear axle ride height with the intention to limit drag a bit. With all of that said, I think in hindsight that I limited the overall straight line speed too much, and also did not get my Falcon to be much quicker exiting corners with the setup adjustments I made during Qualifying. At any rate, the opening lap of this race was filled with drama as I got off to a terribly slow start coming off the grid. The leading group of drivers soon established a blistering pace that was difficult to match, which confirmed my aforementioned concerns about lack of straight line speed and cornering exit during Qualifying session. I was later engaged with fierce position battles with surrounding drivers for several laps. Unfortunately I still committed several errors throughout this race that slowed my pace down even more.
