Kelly Bise Racing and M2K Motorsports Set a New Corvette Standing Mile World Record! On May 2, 2026, Kelly Bise rolled his 3,000-horsepower C6 Z06 Corvette to the starting line at The Arkansas Mile, an event hosted by ECTA Motorsports. With nearly 30 pounds of boost on tap, Kelly launched down the runway and accelerated to an astonishing 280 MPH, setting a new Corvette standing mile world record before deploying the parachutes beyond the one-mile marker. The story behind this achievement stretches back more than a decade. Ten years ago, Kelly owned a record-setting land-speed Camaro that reached 263 MPH with its builder behind the wheel. That car made history and helped inspire an even greater goal: building a Corvette capable of rewriting the record books. Years of development, testing, and perseverance led Kelly and the M2K Motorsports team to this moment. What started as an ambitious vision became reality as the Corvette blasted through the mile at 280 MPH, establishing a new benchmark for the platform. This video documents the journey, the risks, the setbacks, and the triumph of a team determined to achieve something extraordinary. It is the culmination of years of effort and features Kelly Bise's final standing mile run. 280 MPH. 3,000 Horsepower. One Mile. One Corvette World Record. Congrats! Doing it in style with the timeless C6Z06
" I just fawkin John Force burned out n shyt " I love this guy! And the the fact these cars are full interior with most of the basic functions still working is phenomenal 💪🏽
Man...I remember seeing the black 4th gen crash....Glad to see that you've built an even better faster car....congrats on the WR..🍻😎👍
I have a question I need about these bad ass speed runs. Mechanically, is it more horsepower that produces most of the speed, or is the transmission build with a special gear ratio?
You need arm restraints on just incase another crash at speed. That driver door comes off in a roll and your hands come of steering wheel your gonna be hurting. They are simple and don’t cost nothing. Use em.
😂😂 I like the way he talks
So Callaway did 254.7mph with 900hp in 88. Why is this thing not faster at 3000hp ??
That track being covered in dirt and shhh..scary
Patience cant build speed without money.
Congratulations BTW!
Congratulations on the achievement to you and your team… I love the z06 platform Watching from the Caribbean 🇦🇬
Awesomeness my favorite was the old Camaro the f-body
BYD Yangwang U9 Xtreme Edition Specifications: Power: 3,019 hp (4 electric motors, 555 kW each). Top speed: 496.22 km/h (world record for production cars set in September 2025). Acceleration: 0-62 mph in under 2 seconds. Quarter mile: a quick 7 seconds. Features: 1200-volt architecture, special GitiSport tires, improved cooling. The BYD Yangwang U9 Xtreme accelerates to 496 km/h (equivalent to 308.2 mph) in 13.80 seconds with a Cd coefficient of 0.195, and the total distance traveled from a standing start is exactly 1,168 meters (0.72 miles) at 308.2 mph. Let me reiterate: in this test, the BYD Yangwang U9 Xtreme wasn't tuned for aggressive acceleration, but rather for a more relaxed, stable feel until reaching top speed. If there were ever a test run from a standing start to 500 km/h, involving a quick, aggressive acceleration run, the numbers would be as follows: the total distance traveled from a standing start would be exactly 1,168 meters (0.72 miles) at 308.2 mph. Checkmate 😂🎉
That’s some serious speed and the car sounds solid to go that kind of speed is crazy.
Ole Blytheville AFB runway!
He does it again
Cleetus McFarlands 5000hp Camaro went 268 in a quarter mile. For 400,000 someone could put a gear in it and break this record.
What's the 415 stand for???
If this was 2010 this would be impressive 😢damn those 4500 who awd lambos
The reason some of us drag racers haven't done it, is the rear tire problem. On paper with a tuned Pro/Mod car we can pass 340. But, the big problem from talking to Goodyear and Hoosier, is the slicks wont hold up for that distance at full power. Fuel guys can run 330 on a set for a 1/4 mile, but the force of the tire growth makes them change slicks every two runs, because the belts inside the tire start separating. And you don't want that at speed when trying for a full 1 mile pass. plus shutdown area, so yer asking the tires to run almost 2 miles at power and top end speed plus shut down distance. We will figure something out one day, and give the semi street cars a run for their money. Congratulations on the speed record. looking to see you do 290+
