As an autistic person I love dry humor. I use it a lot too because you don't need to be super expressive and entertaining. You just drop something with a straight face and leave it to other people if they find it funny. This way you are either seen as funny as hell, smart and self-reflected or skilled on a rhetorical level. But nobody would consider you as cringe because you don't try to convince people that you're trying to be funny. If a joke goes over their head, you don't have to deal with awkward silence. You can just keep talking as if nothing happened.

Actually my problem is I often make dry jokes but I don't even always mean them as a joke. I am just honest and so I don't need to "act" like having a straight face.
