My dad passed away over a decade again, and he was sober when he did, but the years before that were really, really tough. I’ve always known he was a narcissist, but I literally didn’t think those words until this moment. And I know I knew he was a narcissist, because the song that always spoke to me as if it were from about my dad was Red Rubber Ball by Cyrkle, you should check it out! Ex: he brought me home from college my first Thanksgiving because he wanted to make sure he had been there to mention it before we saw his family.

"I was bored and needed to talk to someone." One of the ever-changing responses I got for the sexting messages from the ex-husband. This was during work hours. His best friend sat next him.

New mom’s toxic dad realized the minute his daughter had a baby that she has her own life and family outside of him. That sent him into a narcissistic rage. My mom stressed me out both times I was pregnant to the point that my doctors told me it was causing pregnancy complications. The second pregnancy, the nurses had to ban her from the hospital while I was on bed rest. I feel she was actually trying to end my life. She was super mad I was having children at all. She really thought I was going to spend the rest of her life taking care of her.

10:25 The 19-yo is never gonna stay with him long-term. He’ll be back begging for his wife in no time. What a waste of a perfectly good relationship because he was “insecure in his teens”. 😒

I’m a therapist and I can’t even tell you the number of times I’ve had to say that sometimes our parents don’t have the capacity to be the parents we need. It’s hard to get to acceptance of that but once you do, it makes things so much more peaceful internally!

This is a good story of "family helps family." Love the retired uncle! Also, soooo many lawyers are actually dumb. They just kinda passed the bar. 😂

Wait cause that happened to me too!! I had my mom in the delivery room during the birth (Thank God for that cause my husband was frozen while watching) literally 45min after having the baby, I had all my in-laws piling in, including some of their friends. When I got up and had blood spill out of me, I heard comments saying it was nasty. I felt so uncomfortable. Even though the room was a pretty decent sized, I felt crowded and I didn’t get the chance to really be with my daughter. But when my SIL had her daughter she told everyone no one can come in the room till she was ready and they listened. My husband was inviting everyone to come see the baby right after having the baby and I felt like I wasn’t heard during that. I hope this second one will be a little less stressful with that.

"it's easier to use the cup than going upstairs" you're right, my man. I had a spinal cord injury last year, spent a month in the hospital and had to learn how to walk again and now a year out, I still plan my day around using the stairs because it is still hard for me. I have never peed in a cup.

I had all 3 of our children with only my husband in the room. Everyone understood we didn’t want anyone in the room with us. No one came to the hospital till the next day with the first 2 as well. And my 3rd was actually born during Covid so we had a couple months before anyone met him. It was honestly so nice because we just needed to get into our new routine.
