Shiba Owners Know the Struggle 😳

Original video credit: IG/chloe.shibainu.malaysia Shiba Inu are famous for having a thick double coat that helps protect them from both cold weather and harsh outdoor conditions. Twice a year, that coat goes through a major shedding cycle known among owners as "blowing coat." During this period, large clumps of loose underfur can come out every day for weeks. The amount of fur can be genuinely surprising. Many owners joke that they could build a second Shiba Inu from everything their dog sheds during the season. Despite the chaos, all that shedding serves a purpose. The old undercoat is being replaced with a new one better suited for the upcoming season, helping the dog stay comfortable year-round. πŸ•πŸ§Ή No copyright infringement intended. Atleast he is standing quietly while the owner is combing....but i hav a German spitz which doesn't let me even comb her.....someone has to hold her steady so that she can't run away and the other person will comb πŸ˜…

One thing about having dogs I hate, covered in hair when you show up to do anything having to look nice, I have to keep a lint roller on me at all times πŸ˜‚

We have a Shiba mix... It took us forever to figure out the mix (rat terrier)... According to her mix, it must be a 60/40 mix, because her shed isn't this much!!!πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

I really wonder how some dogs and even cats kept they’re fur/hair maintenance when they were once like wild animals because they can’t reach everywhere

I think Norwegian Elkhounds shed worse. My breeder said "They only shed twice per year, six months at a time".

This is not individual to Shiba Inu's. This is also how some other breeds of dog shed, as well as wolves, coyotes, foxes, hair sheep, and even some hares/rabbits. Im sure there are plenty of others as well.
