This video is kind of insane to me, I don’t want to come across as a hater but: - Pokopia is massively over performing - Switch 2 software sales can’t be compared to switch 1 which has a much larger library for people to choose from. If each person gets 2 games a year it will line up with switch 1 attachment rates almost perfectly - there are significantly more first party games on switch 2 at this point in the lifecycle compared to switch 1 - the argument of not having any instalments in loads of major franchises is fair, but they just ARE coming in the future. They can’t all release in the first year - Lower software sales for switch 2 games doesn’t mean switch 2 players are buying fewer games because of backwards compatibility

are you certain that pokopia and air riders underperformed from nintendo's perspective? compared to other spinoffs in their respective series, those numbers are pretty solid.

Honestly I bought the Switch 2 at launch to be able to enjoy Switch 1 games with better performance, since I still have such a Switch 1 backlog. The only "Switch 2" game I've played extensively has been Legends Z-A. But honestly, since the Switch was my primary gaming console, it's still been worth it. The fact that everything just loads so much faster makes playing all those older games just a lot more enjoyable.

yeah i think you missed the mark here austin. we’re in a cost of living crisis, the switch is still doing pretty well and pokopia did so much better than anyone including the devs expected, and the reporting numbers are vague to what counts as switch 2 software and what doesn’t. people are still adopting and i feel like this video is almost useless, the switch 2 is performing well and even COD has so much more interest BECAUSE it’s coming to the switch 2

Why are you comparing software that released over the last EIGHT years on Switch 1 to the FIRST year of Switch 2? You should compare the first year of switch 1 to first year of switch 2 and realize how blessed we are with so many games especially 3rd party.... Switch 1 year one had a 4:1 software sale attach rate but you need to consider that switch 2 owners are still enjoying their back catalog of games also which is why the software sales attach rate is 2:1. Switch 1 literally has hundreds and hundred of great games for switch 2 owners to buy especially now that Switch 1 games are going on deep discounts on the eShop.
