Life for cheetahs is difficult despite their incredible speed. They’re mostly solitary and moms raise their young alone. Most Cheetah cubs don’t survive to adolescence or adulthood, as they’re vulnerable until they’re old enough to join mom on hunts. They face threats from predators that outnumber and outweigh them (hyenas, leopards, and lions who all kill cubs). They’re such remarkable cats! 🐆 it’s my dream to see one in the wild!

I saw a video years ago where they used an x-ray to show a cheetah’s spinal movement while at full sprint. I have no clue how they pulled that off, but the spine compressed like an accordion. If any other land mammal’s spine (including humans) compressed to that degree they’d be dead before they hit the ground. Incredible evolution.
