Crazier still was the smoking section on airplanes…

“How did the smoke just stay in one section?” Southerner here. It didn’t. The non-smoking section was just LESS smokey. Some restaurants were divided into two rooms, and one room was the smoking section. However, there wasn’t a door or between them (typically), so the smoke would still trickle into the non-smoking section. In other places, the smoking section was just a space in the restaurant. There were no glass dividers, air filters, or anything like that. So, the non-smoking section just meant you weren’t sitting inside the cloud of smoke.

How did the smoke stay in the smoking section? It never did 😂, I volunteered at a fire department that allowed smoking during their bingos. Im almost positive my lungs look like someone who smoked for 20 years 😅. Good times.
