Radeon RX 9070 GRE: Nobody buying, probably 'coz they feel betrayed by AMD, not making the promising High End of the 9000 series, just to secure Xbox and PS6 GPU Schedule deals; then betrayed again with crappy GRE Specs and high price; and Lisa Su saying: Enterprise(AI) is what they care about. I don't blame them at all

Disastrous products. Lacks compatibility with Windows 11.

It's a new launch, what did you expect? The price will come down by next week. Next story! Last video I guessed that TSMC had to do some retooling. Immediately after that I read Tom's hardware and confirmed that TSMC chip bonding factory has been upgraded so 5800X3D can longer be made in the same TSMC factory. This is why AMD has also started to source for silicon bonding from other vendors. Nah, AMD Zen 5 and Zen 6 are made from the same generation of ASML EUV lithography machines. N2 is a process refinement on N3. AMD Zen 6 needs better energy efficiency than Zen 5. AMD Zen 7 and Intel next CPU after Nova Lake will use ASML Hi-NA EUV machines and those start at 14 angstrom. Of course, the transistors are not that small. The main advantage is the precision allow 3D structures like Gate All-around/RibbonFET and backside power delivery (also not new) and Silicon VIA side-by-side, allowing something like 10 layers of silicon 3D structures to be laid on top of another on the same wafer. The process is insanely complex! This is completely different from 3D VCache bonding or HBM/NAND memory stacking. When you do stacking in silicon, you save a ton of power and the frequency can go up much higher. 3D structures in transistors are nothing new (think FinFET) but previous process nodes are not refined enough to allow complex 3D structures like RibbonFET/Gate All-around transistor with high yield. If all goes well, Intel next-gen CPU should beat AMD Zen 7 to market.

I am probably wrong, but it seems much more likely for amd to do something similar to what Nvidia is doing. A large system on chip with the cpu and gpu cores plus common memory in a single package. Sort of an apu on steroids like I have been asking for.

Anyone care to donate any old am4 parts? I need a CPU, GPU, SSD, PSU...I live in Trinidad and Tobago. 😊

The 5800x3d should have stayed in the pass. Go to the last socket AM 4 and produce that chip not the 5800x3d. That is AMD never missing an opportunity to miss an opportunity, this time in both the CPU and GPU

You say back to back I bet there is going to be 2 years between them LOL

Glad I bought my 5700x3d on launch day for $249. With a -30 undervolt it's a Beast paired with a 7800XT hellhound🤙

AMD can keep that trash. Already been done that NEXT!!!!

It's only a matter of time before the old stock of 9070 XTs sell through and new production 9070 cards arrive. They will be priced much higher, and the 9070 GRE will look like a bargain.

here in india 9070 is cheapter than 9070GRE 🤣🤣🤣

I bought an R7 7800X3D (£250) 6 months ago with 32GB DDR5 6000 RAM (£350) total price £600, 1000w PSU and RX 7800XT added £500. If I buy the 5800X3D and keep the 32GB DDR4 RAM at £450 you only save £150 but remain on the AM4 platform. Selling my R9 3900X and 32GB of DDR4 RAM with a 750w PSU, gaming mobo and GTX 1080Ti system paid for 60% of the upgrade. I had that system for 8 years, that's a yearly cost of less than £100/year. Their mathematics doesn't make sense.

watch - this is to save on ram so I bet AMD is replacing the 9070 with the 9070 GRE. once stock is gone the GRE will be the only option and the 9070 XT will creep higher in price and the 9060 XT 16 GB will also be in lower supply at rising prices.

looks at ram prices....yeah no.

They'd better start to build their own RAM Factory or integrate RAM in the GPU and build a different and better version of RAM that can work in a CPU and GPU together. Whatever is the hardest load on Hardware, needs RAM the most, needs an integration or a new NANO 3D ram, that is faster than normal RAM. AMD should invest in this and only sell it to gamers and only 2 units per Account per year. Account needs to be 1 year old. At this point, you really selling only to gamers, that are in need for RAM. AMD needs to make a bold move, to strip away gamers from Nvidia, and get better FSR 4.0 support in more games and i hope RUBIN GPUs are 300-400% stronger in RT performance... because Pathtracing is pretty weak on AMD side.

Why didn't they just made a different CPU with the current technology to match the old CPU and called it as the same name ? :D
