i measured the distance and speed using ronaldo as a scale because he is 187cm tall and based on the match footage alonso covered 5 meters in 3 seconds which is only 1.67m/s. from a physics standpoint the wind from a leg moving that slowly cannot move a 440g ball. the air force created is only 0.03 newtons but you need 0.43 newtons just to overcome the friction of the grass. this means the wind is 14 times too weak to even nudge the ball. even with his foot moving downward the air pressure isnt enough to push it 5 meters. the only real explanation is a direct transfer of momentum. since the video quality and frame rate often miss tiny details it is clear that alonso actually touched the ball with his sole or studs and it only looked like wind because the camera couldnt catch that fast contact.
