Royal Commonwealth Society Clean Oceans Catch Up | Episode 2: Notpla

Activism

🌊 Clean Oceans Catch Up Episode 1 Notpla (United Kingdom) Plastic pollution is one of the greatest threats facing our oceans today. With an estimated 400 million tonnes of plastic produced each year and more than 12 million tonnes entering the ocean annually, urgent action is needed. In this video, we sit down with Notpla, to discuss their vital work tackling plastic pollution and how individuals can change everyday behaviour to reduce waste and protect their own health. This interview is part of the Commonwealth Clean Oceans Plastics Campaign, launched in Samoa during CHOGM 2024. The campaign aims to prevent over one million pieces of plastic from entering Commonwealth oceans and waterways by July 2026, while inspiring long-term change in how we produce, use, and dispose of plastic. We are incredibly grateful to Notpla for sharing their expertise, leadership, and commitment to reducing plastic waste, and for their support of the Commonwealth Clean Oceans Plastics Campaign.
