Your players want to take risks! They want to explore all the possibilities their character offers. However for many players that desire is overshadowed by fear of embarrassment, failure, and uncertainty. My cure? Forgiveness. Give you players the wiggle room to make a mistake and go “actually, my character wouldn’t do that” it’s OK to take a beat and let you players discover their role playing muscles through trial and error. And the best part is they will only get better at it as they are given grace to practice and experiment. How do you encourage risk taking at the table? . . . I love my players. The personalities they bring to their characters. The stories they tell. I want my players to discover something new about themselves through the adventures they have at my table. Cantrips and Cabins is my gift to all the players out there who have found a piece of themselves through playing this game we all love. With the retreat I hope that we can come together with mutual trust, an eagerness to play, and love for storytelling and build experience the campaign we’ve always dreamed of having. Cantrips & Cabins is designed from the ground up on a foundation of building trust between players and creating a safe and inclusive environment. All players are vetted ahead of time and I have crafted an extensive session zero experience that prepares players for the story and ensures everyone has met and feels safe with each other before the retreat. l've spent 15 years planning the events you love. l've built entire experiences for dozens of audiences of tens of thousands of individuals, but this project of mine is special. This D&D Retreat comes from my heart as an event producer who LOVES D&D. l've created something I'm really proud of, a TTRPG experience that immerses you in a fantasy of your own creation, with players you can trust to be your party and a DM dedicated to crafting a game experience not for any player, but for you specifically. Play is radical. It reminds us that we are more than our jobs and our bank accounts. It puts us back in touch with our humanity and our joy. D&D is my favorite way of engaging in this radical play. Play where anything is possible and our imaginations are challenged to let go of what we thought was impossible. Ready to play like a kid again? You feel lost in the hustle of life, but want to connect to your imagination and creativity? You long for a slow paced long weekend full of gaming and friends? You’ve heard of others discovering themselves through D&D role play, but you’ve felt too isolated or unwelcome at your tables to enjoy that kind of self discovery. You say to yourself: I want to explore I want to play more I want to expand into myself But you worry: What if I don’t like the other players? What if it’s not the adventure I want to go on? What if I’m not good enough of a player? This is your chance to experience what D&D play can bring to your life. Whether you are a forever DM or a beginner player and want safe, character driven, and imaginative play we’re hosting a D&D retreat in the mountains of Newry, Maine this October 2026. #DnDRetreat #dnd2024 #dndtrend #dmtips #roleplaying
