This is by far the best video online. I read my Genie manual and infiniti manual and could't get it to work. I didn't even notice the buttons underneath. I kept removing the light bulb cover thinking that one of those two buttons was the set button. The set button is under the opener. You don't have to remove anything (thank god). You get an A+ for clarity.

Finally an actual proper procedure! None of the other videos included the extra step of going to the genie unit and hitting the SET/PGM button and coming back to hold the button to program it on the mirror. Thanks a bunch

FYI, I tried this method and it did not work with my Genie 2028. Then I found the official Genie video and they said, while the opener is flashing purple, press the HomeLink button twice for 1 second each, instead of holding it. After doing this, the light on the opener quickly flashed blue, indicating the pair was successful. This was the method that finally worked and allowed me to pair both of my VW HomeLink mirrors.

Thank you for this. Paired my Genie with my Camry perfectly. The owners manual tells you to start in garage unit, but doesn't tell you to use the garage remote to get the car to learn the remote FIRST then the garage to learn the car.
