Comparing the 95% gene similarity to intelligence is like comparing two different books because they share 95% of the same alphabet.
Then think about the intelligence difference between a duck and a chimp. It would be similar to this scenario but the difference in the character is not much. So I would say it's not only about difference in intelligence
I'm pretty sure that there is a .5% difference in humans. These last ten years have proved it. "I think..." has been replaced with "I feel..."

Not only intelligence, but human ability to work together & collective growth is also major factor
But if that 0.4% had that much difference what about the rest 99.6% it doesnt make sense
The scary part is to them we’d just be animals. And we all know what happens when an animal meets an intelligent being

Chimpanzees ARE NOT 5% more dumb than us. They have around 7 billion neurons. Humans have around 100 billion. Chimpanzees have iq of around 35. Humans have 100. An alien 5% smarter than us would have been just slightly smarter than average human.
