That's more than likely why Spyro Reignited didn't have as much buzz as it could have, because a bunch of the youths at the time were more familiar with the Skylanders Spyro. All the dragons, characters, people didn't know who any of them were, so it ended up being more of a love letter to fans of the original. Which is sad, because to me, Skylanders really lacked much depth to "Spyro," when the whole aim was to sell a bunch of these expensive toys and profit heavy off of that whole gimmick. And as such, ActivisionBlizzard being as inept as they always are, Spyro has been gathering dust AGAIN, all because people didn't want to throw millions of dollars at Crash Team Rumble. It's totally not like the game wasn't F2P and still had Battle Pass content in it.

They understood who Spyro was. Skylanders was originally going to be Spyro's Kingdom set in a post Dawn of the Dragon world. But the project they ended up going with ended up not really even needing him.

Gen 4 actually made money off of Spyro. He doesn't seem to making a comeback nah nowadays in the modern day. Comment posted on June 3rd, 2026.
