Scaling and microservices are great but always need to remember, that more parts you seperate, the more maintenance overhead you introduce. Might be okay for a larger team but hard to manage and even harder to document with a much smaller team.

Gosh I'm so sick of web apps and web development all being treated like the end all be all of software. Not every piece of software out there needs friggin services, servers, databases, frameworks, or whatever else. I miss native desktop applications. Such a Rarity, an oddity nowadays. Tragic.
