Funny thing about Thunder vs No Guard Zap Cannon. You mentioned Thunder hits Pokémon in the invulnerable part of Fly, and that would be its only benefit over Zap Cannon, early in the video. No Guard does too. It hits through all moves that have an invulnerable state.

I am just happy we got an Electric Surge user who feels like they're a good middle ground between Pincurchin and Tapu Koko. Scarlet/Violet made me realize how painful it was to have a lack of Electric terrain setters because my only options was to use up a restricted legendary slot with Miraidon or use Pincurchin.
Raichu Y might be the first Pokemon since maybe Machamp to have a genuinely good use case for No Guard (that isn’t a gimmick). Zap Cannon for it specifically is just nuzzle but as a non-contact no drawback Close Combat It’s kinda messed up though that Alolan Raichu gets screwed over so hard, surge surfer but the only potentially decent electric surge user is…another Raichu
