Considering sodium would be more than half the price of lithium per kw, that could easily drive business and contracts to pick that up and just deal with the volume where it can. A phone can get slightly larger to accommodate a larger battery if it's 50% cheaper.
That was an awesome presentation. It answered some questions I had about what changed to make today's batteries so much better than the ni-cads when I was growing up in the 80s.

This is why when I installed an 18kw solar ground mount a couple years ago, I skipped the batteries; I had the feeling new tech was going to come along soon that would make anything I bought in '21/'22 obsolete. Now design a home battery that doesn't deteriorate, with around 100kwh of storage for around $10k installed, and I'll call you for an appointment this afternoon.
This right here is a true breakthrough.
