My grandad just passed this morning, he was sadly also very demented.. I had to mourn him twice, first when I realised he had forgotten who I was and now when he is no longer with us.. Its hard, but he was in alot of pain in the end so I think it was for the best..

My father had frontotemporal dementia. Watching him slowly deteriorate was devastating. He was so smart and funny and loving and over time he became a shell of himself. Towards the end you could look in his eyes and see parts of him still there, almost like some part of him knew he was trapped. He died two years ago and not a day goes by where I don’t think about him. I love you so much dad.

I’m a CNA in nursing school and I deal with a lot of folks that have dementia and Alzheimer’s . I’m so grateful to be able to help ! The work is not for everyone but it’s rewarding 😊

Its great this show, in the next episode they hand cuff him while he's bleeding to death as a tribute to community cohesion

My mom passed last month in hospice and watching her lose herself and slip away within weeks was the hardest thing I've ever felt. Having to watch it over years sounds miserable.

If only the British police realy was like this and not handcuffing a dying man that was stabbed multiple times

This is the type of stuff that our police should be doing. If they see someone broke down on the side of the road, they should pull over and help. If they see someone stuck in a wheelchair and can't move, they should pull over and help. That's what they're supposed to be doing. Is helping people not changing people's lives by causing so much financial debt?All they are going to do is go more and more in the negative.

My grandfather is suffering from memory loss. It really sucks because I never got to know him that well and I can’t get much out of him these days. I still have fond memories that I’ll hold dear.
