Re: every guy at some point trying it, when I was in nursing school, one of the surgeries I sat in on was an orchiopexy for a 6 year-old who had an undescended testicle. There was some extra tissue binding it inside the canal, so they had to do a few little laparoscopic incisions to get tools in to free it and then thread it down into the scrotum, but then they also had to put a couple sutures in once it was in the scrotum to secure it in place, otherwise it might just retreat back up again. I remember wondering if having it stitched to the scrotum would cause him any discomfort or trouble as he grew older, and one of the less harrowing possibilities I considered was that maybe he would try to tuck someday and be confused as to why he couldn't get it to work on one side 😅
