A Sandwich, A Poem, and a Lesson in Humility | Groundhog Day – Phil‘s Kindness to the Homeless Man 🧣🥧💀 Description: He had tried everything. Gluttony. Theft. Seduction. Suicide. Nothing worked. Every morning at 6:00 AM, he woke up to the same song on the same clock radio. In the cold winter of Punxsutawney, Phil Connors (Bill Murray) discovered the one thing he couldn‘t bend to his will: an old, dying homeless man . He couldn‘t save him. No matter how many times he rushed him to a hospital, no matter how many doctors he bribed—the old man always died in his arms before the snow melted. The universe had a schedule. Death had a date. And Phil couldn‘t fix it . So he stopped trying to play God. He decided to be a friend. He doesn‘t just give the man spare change anymore. He sits with him. He buys him a hot meal. He wraps a blanket around his shoulders and stays with him until the end, knowing the morning will wipe the old man‘s memory . He learned to play the piano not to impress a girl, but because the sound might comfort the dying. He sculpted ice not for glory, but because he had nothing left to prove . That‘s the day Phil Connors stopped being a weatherman. That‘s the day he became human. 👇 He couldn‘t change the ending. But he could change the story. #GroundhogDay

Remember, he spent decades trapped in that loop.
What’s even more sad is the fact that his day starts over the next day n he already knows pops fate :(even if he did manage to save him he’d have to save him everyday
At least he made the old man's last day a good one.
Such a sad scene, knowing he'll never be able to save the old man 😢
Everyone likes to think it was love for the girl that got him out of the loop… it was the fact that he couldn’t save one old man with all the time in the world that finally made him change!! ❤
Top 10 greatest movie of all time.
I know it’s a sad scene but seeing the old man have one last big meal is heartwarming. Always good to give someone in poor circumstances a free hot meal
Wish tht people would really remember the lessons in this kind of movie. 😅😢😅😊
The real reason of the loop was god giving this homeless man one last chance to be loved.
That Ford Ranger was incredible
That old man is a great actor. 😢
Actor Les Podewell. Was in about 20 movies. He was phenomenal in this.
whats so terrible is that in the moment youre completely broken about his fate, so you devote multiple loops just caring for him and making his last day comfortable. but youre trapped there for so long that theres a desensitizing effect where after so many loops you just give up and stop caring because you can't change his fate.
This makes me sad
Not caring is a luxury some ppl will never experience, those ppl make this world a better place.
Random acts of kindness.❤
This scene fucked me up as a kid. The old man was so happy for someone to spend time with him, the actor made me believe his was so appreciative of the kindness
Say what you will about him high roading the ghostbusters come back. This scene gets me. Every time. And I’ve been watching it for over 3 decades
Such an underrated film. My life has been 2 Ground Hog days. SSDD work, sleep on days off.
Out of everybody in town this was the only guy he couldn't help but at least he made his last day amazing
