Self-improvement became a red flag.

People and blogs

This relationship started with shared values, open-mindedness, and mutual respect. But over time, his “self-improvement” journey turned into judgment, control, and pressure for her to change who she was. This clip is about relationship red flags, emotional control, changing values, and knowing when to stop trying to make a relationship work with someone who no longer respects the person you’ve always been. #relationshipadvice #relationshipredflags #toxicrelationships #datingtalk #LAIDpodcast #podcastclips #short

He changed, good on him. He cannot expect anyone else to change in the same way. At any point or time. Good on OP for knowing this and breaking it off before things got even worse. He should have broken things off, amicably, as opposed to pushing his “new him” on OP! When one changes their behaviour, beliefs, routine…they do not announce such things nor do they push their agenda on others. One just goes about their new life not inflicting nonsense on others. How OP lasted that long is beyond me. Good riddance!

I knew a couple that went through changes that ended the marriage. They both started off daily drinkers. The woman quit drinking alcohol and the man didn't like it and became abusive. She had to get out. Her improving herself was important for her. You can't really guarantee both in a relationship will stay on the same page forever.

This is who he always was, he only disguised himself to get you, this is his true self now showing, congratulations for not collecting the red flags, and got out in one piece.

CUT THIS GUY LOOSE. He told you what he wanted in a partner and it wasn't what you wanted to be. he thought you would cave.
