This mentality is why I’ve kept my distance from the online alternative community. There’s this constant need to “educate” random people, which I’m hoping comes from a good place for most of these people, but that doesn’t make it any less of a nuisance to navigate around. It has an “internet activist” vibe in the worst way, and I have to stop my dying urge to ask these people what they’ve at all done to contribute to their local politics.
"You can't care about this fictional person from a story, it's not real. Who actually cares about this anyway?" I don't believe that it's wrong to feel or emphasize with art, otherwise art has failed to do its job. I also believe that it's not a good thing to bash people who feel bad towards a character in order to sound more logical. The obsession with getting the upper hand using your negativity deemed as logic in the modern day feels like it has torn people apart. (By the way, I'm referencing a clip of two children having to pay off a stranger as their father to go to the hospital, since their mother has been dead in their home for a week in the story. Also, if you were wondering, lots of people were exclusively correcting the grammar of those they didn't agree with.)
"You can't care about this fictional person from a story, it's not real. Who actually cares about this anyway?" I'm not exaggerating. You see this. I don't believe that it's wrong to feel or emphasize with art, otherwise art has failed to do its job. In Poland we oftentimes correct others on our typos, but that's one part cause the language is bonkers and there's these bizzare rules. 2nd part is cause we're all very proud of our language.
i left a question in a comment section that was cruelly made a top comment. so after 120 separate replies answering me, i edited thr comment to say smn like "theres 120 replies do u think no one has told me yet. i got it." (i didnt delete the comment bc ppl were having separate stupid arguments in yhe replies id never want to interrupt yk) and someone commented like what did it used to say?? and another person replied like "they asked this but then got butthurt and threw a tantrum because they were wrong" because i was WRONG??? BUDDY... ITS A QUESTION. HOW IS A QUESTION WRONG?? what the fuck are you talking about ??? and i think that guy was just pitching a fit, bc the only way to figure out what i asked was to look at the 120 people who Already Told Me, thus shattering the illusion that u were the smartyguy finally here to set the record straight :(( one of the dumber replies ive gotten 😂
I haven't watched the video yet, but in response to the thumbnail: Do they think they're doing something there? "I'm gonna hold your hand when I say this" nobody is going to cry over a typo / misspelled word. It happens. How annoying do you have to be to comment about something so harmless in such an insufferable way? They're not "clocking" something, they're actually just proving that they think they're better than another person because they spelled something wrong.
I've started deliberately misspelling shit for comedic effect tbh, cannot stand the way every interaction w some people online turns into a competition
The concept of baby proofing your videos 😩😩 ❤ i do the same. I miss the “normal” hate comments of the early internet, they didn’t need to trick people into thinking they were morally or intellectually superior, they were just honest haters. I wonder if the reason hate evolved is because more direct hate comments often get flagged by YouTube
Honestly if AI was more environmentally and psychologically friendly then I wouldn’t have as big of a problem as I do with it. It’s less about “a human didn’t make this,” and more “this is going to destroy our foundations for something that’s not even worth it.”
I'm autistic and bc of this also someone that LOVES correcting everything ever, just bc it just kinda mentally hurts a little to see anything "out of line" so to say. To the point that I'm very much aware it could get extremely annoying if I were to do it every time I get the urge. I always have to ask myself, before I ever jump on any mistakes. Is it something that will cause harm if not called out? If not, MOVE ON.
I also dislike when people try to make something “basic knowledge btw!!” Like as if the person who just learned a the knowledge as fucking dumb for not knowing it i saw a video about like example water pressure for animals and everyone was quick to act like their the best because they know it??? Like for me I don’t much about it because they literally don’t teach us much about sea animals??? They kept saying “basic knowledge btw!👆” like can people learn new things dude without being treated as if their half a brain??, it pissed me off like sorry I don’t get fully on the same exact experience as you 😭?
this was... not the kind of clocking i was expecting the video to be about, but its still an excellent video & i enjoyed watching! <3
It makes people so scared of being wrong, when we learned all the way back at the start of all our educations that mistakes are how we learn and grow. Very sad
Irl, people say things wrong and do these wrong, but if I don't know them and I can understand what they were saying, I do not feel the need to correct them because that can be rude. The internet gives people so much audacity. The whole media literacy crisis applies to these people because they are reactionary and do not know how to actually be critical of content without centering themselves. If someone makes a mistake and you want to correct them, there are so many ways to do that without being weird, mean, and pretentious. Media literacy isn't referring to grammar or spelling, it's about understanding the meaning and intentions of what you are consuming and knowing how to interact with that media. Those kinds of comments are a great example of the media literacy crisis. Shallow understanding of what it means to be right used in situations where being right does not even matter.
Not video related comment, but i just wanna share that at 5:25, the punching sound effects made my dogs think it was a barking sound effect😂😂 all of them barked back and i can't help but pause the video to laugh
I remember the time where i joined an online group for support and help. In my introduction, i made a minor spelling error. Instead of greeting me, they immediately pointed out my error. Like, hello???? What happened to "Hi" or "How are you?" Left that group as soon as I joined.
I always wondered why people couldn’t think inside their own heads and keep scrolling. This video was needed. Thank you.
Honestly I get pissed when people don't correct me when I'm wrong. Even the little things are worth learning eventually usually, you'll go through the rest of your life knowing that. The problem is that somewhere along the way a ton of people got it into their head that there's nothing more important than some perception of "intelligence" and being right all the time. I just be saying shit I know is wrong sometimes just to keep people on their feet
Used to read a lot and I used to spell or write words wrong 😅
❤love the video People make mistakes and eyah we should be more patient with them and see how they got to a certain conclusion 🎉 On Ai though- I can never get behind the new search bots like chatGPT since they do more harm than good. It was trained to consume regardless of weather🎉 the content correct or a yoke🎉 response. People who use them to do work, and I’m not talking about tedious tasks, or cheat on their academic assignments are being harmed cause it’s literally dumbing :( down there🎉 brains to not think critically. GenAi as well is an issue since it’s steals data to create and I’m not the biggest fan of that for art and writing. These types of Ai bots really aren’t that beneficial compared to one’s trained to find cancer IMO. Plus, the data centers for these Ai bots use up so much energy and water that it’s having an effect (?) on people’s lives and that to me doesn’t sit right.
