Rewriting the Narrative: EU 4 Gender Equality at the Bologna Children's Book Fair

From 13–16 April 2026, the EU 4 Gender Equality programme participated in the Bologna Children’s Book Fair, the world ’s leading event dedicated to children’s publishing and storytelling. Through a workshop for illustrators, a panel discussion, and a public talk — authors, illustrators, publishers, and gender equality experts explored how children’s literature can challenge gender stereotypes, amplify diverse voices, and shape more inclusive narratives for future generations. This video was produced as part of the “EU 4 Gender Equality: Together Against Gender Stereotypes and Gender-Based Violence” programme (Phase 2), funded by the European Union (EU) and implemented jointly by UN Women and UNFPA.
