Huma Khan, recently served as the Senior Human Rights Advisor working in Bangladesh. She grew up facing discrimination and hostility.Those painful experiences shaped her life’s mission: to fight for justice, dignity, and equal rights for all—no matter their religion, identity, or beliefs. In Bangladesh, she worked to address and prevent a range of human rights issues, from enforced disappearances, extrajudicial killings to torture, censorship, and arbitrary detention. In December 2023, the UN Human Rights advocacy helped prevent a deadly political crackdown that could have cost hundreds of lives. But now, funding cuts are threatening this critical work.
