They’re among some of the fastest fish in the ocean. Black Marlin(82mph), Sailfish(68mph, Swordfish (60mph).
Sir David… (or your editor)… please can you tell me if there is a “collective noun” for a group of sailfish?
Fantástico nosso Mundo Maravilhoso amém 🙏🇧🇷🌎🐕🐑🐖🐕🦺
TY BBC Earth. Ths is incredible video and information
With humans harvesting so much of the biomass out of the oceans, pickings are getting slimmer for species higher in the oceanic food chain including sailfish, sharks, whales, other marine mammals.
My question is, if we assume that the Sailfish are swimming in different areas of the Ocean, how do 100 signal to one another that a bait fish school has been found?
Sailfish can swim 🏊♀️ faster than Usain Bolt can run 🏃 let that sink in!
The best narrated on the planet , thank you .
Hey BBC Earth channel, upload more videos of Tigers, Elephants, Lions, and Crocodiles, those are good and I like them.
And where was this 🤔
Pacific Oceans 🌊 😮
What makes this even more fascinating is the efficiency behind it. Sailfish don’t just rely on speed-they optimize energy use while actively confusing their prey with rapid color changes. It’s a perfect mix of physiology and strategy shaped by evolution.
Essa mudança de cor é impressionante. Um disfarce perfeito da natureza. Usar menos energia e aumentar o sucesso.
A fish that can change color to hunt—pure genius or the ultimate ambush predator? Do you think camouflage is its greatest weapon here?
It is my absolute dream to study the ocean… what a beautiful planet we live on oh my gosh
Sehr schön Gruß Jürgen 🤠

The color changing ability of this fish is truly fascinating such a refined hunting strategy that prey barely has a chance to notice the danger
