Google KILLED the Future of Smartphones!

Tech

Google almost changed the smartphone industry forever, then completely wiped it out. 🀯 In 2014, they introduced Project Araβ€”a revolutionary modular smartphone made of detachable blocks. Imagine a Lego-style phone where you could instantly upgrade your battery, swap out a broken screen, or add a better camera without buying a whole new device. It threatened the entire mobile industry, but then Google suddenly killed it. Why do you think they canceled it? Let me know in the comments! πŸ‘‡ #shorts #tech #google #projectara #smartphone #technology #gadgets #retrothetech #fail

I was set to buy one the first day of release. Gutted that they scrapped it.

They realized it would be consumer friendly but it wouldn't fill their pockets with even more money, so they had to scrap it.

I remember this. Still the best idea for a phone ever imagined.

Some of my buddies were so hyped for this. Sad it never happened.

Like the JAMES BOND's GOLDEN GUN tactic. All parts assembled to be a better item.

Imagine dropping your phone and it disassembles like a goddamn lego set.

I remember when this was first circulating around. It was a great concept but I don’t think it would ever be allowed.

Did the same with cars. There were plans for modular cars. Engine swap in 15 min.

How would the camera be able to function in the same slot as the battery? They’re removable and custom so wouldn’t that mean you can interchange the parts and locations?

It's nice to know that my new phone can explode like Legos

It was called β€œPhoneblocks” and I distinctly remember this. This is a phone I’ve long been interested in ever since this video was first released online. I had no idea Google was the one who buried it. Goes to show how good an idea this was going to be.
