Determined to save the swan's life, the man immediately set about helping it. To ensure the swan did not thrash about in pain, he carefully held it steady. Then, grasping its beak with one hand and holding a pair of tweezers in the other, he attempted to extract the hook. However, the hook was embedded very deeply. Had he attempted to pull it out by force, the swan could have sustained even greater injury. Consequently, the man took a small cutter from his bag and severed the hook in the middle. He then used the tweezers to carefully extract both pieces of the hook.
