I had seats very close to the pitch a few years back... Jeez, Xhaka basically spent 90+ minutes yelling, pushing, hurling Guendouzi around the pitch. He looked stressed, exhausted, and completely dumbfounded by how moronic his midfield partner was... But he stuck to it all game. Shame the Arsenal fans were awful to him at times.

I think it’s more convenient to keep Casemiro because he is already familiar with everything within the club and there is an established chemistry.

As a Bayernfan, I desperately wanted Xhaka at our club when he left Leverkusen. Believe me: this guy is a proper player. He’s a proven Premier Legaue player and so complete in his game !

Mourinho wanted Xhaka when he played for Arsenal he’s a proper leader.

The theory is solid. Perhaps not exactly Xhaka, but i understand the point hes making. Its important to have that solid experience in and around a squad.

Not a Utd fan, but got to say that having previously slated Xhaka at Arsenal and in Germany for being a dirty player who can just pop up with the odd screamer, hes turned his career around. He's since gone to Leverkusen and was a big part of that team of mainly young players that won the title and had one of the most impressive unbeaten streaks in Europe for a long time. Now hes gone to Sunderland and looked very much like a really good Premier league player. Wouldn't be the worst signing in the world, and hes not going to be close to the wages that Casemiro is on

Why would he leave a bigger club

I've actually made the same argument for why United should go get Goretzka. An older player whose not gonna cost a mint that can come in and somewhat replace Casemiro's experience in a winning team to a team that doesn't have a TON of it.

As a squad player absolute no brainer, people seem to forget you need more than 11 players and not every signing needs to be a starter

Like Eriksen. I don’t think he’d play 80% of games, but could definitively be a great squad player
