I'm part of the gay men's choir Rainbros here in Bergen, Norway and this song is part of our repertoire, it's very tongue in cheek and it really shows you how stupid homophobes sound with their outlandish claims that in extreme cases aren't too far from what we hear in this song. It's catchy and sticks in your head and you end up humming it all day long lol!
In the end it says "SVT Humor - Godkänt av staten" ie SVT (Swedish Television) Humor - Approved by the State.
Gay community in Sweden loves/loved this song and used to play it on pride.
4:54 Fred Phelps was a priest in the US who ran a campaign called ”God Hates Sweden” due to our pro-HBTQ views, blaming us for the tsunami in Thailand etc. This was made in that context, it’s sort of just giving fundamentalists across the Atlantic the Sweden they demand to see.

You should watch Grotesco’s ”Tingeliin” which had the Russian embassaador filing a complaint to Swedish national television and the Swedish government. Dismissed of course because this is the true country of free speech.

There are stupid and overly religious people all over the world, also some in Sweden (though maybe not so many). The US of course excels in that category. This is our state-funded public service broadcaster svt, like the UK's BBC. Fun family entertanment. This song is loved and sung by gay people, at Pride festivals as well I think. It certainly doesn't poke fun at them, but they obviously have a sense of humour. The people this actually pokes fun at, hardly does. Then this wouldn't exist. 😂 I don't think I have ever seen you shocked, that was fun. Yeah, the US needs to relax and not be so uptight. It's nice to live in a truly free country. 😊🇸🇪
We have had freedom of press in Sweden sins 1766 older than the Usa. I'm over 50 years old. And it have been nudity and swearwords in tv as long as I remember.
