A few years ago; someone was remodelling a store unit in a mall and took out a back wall. They found an untouched-since-the-70/80s burger restaurant that had just been boarded up at the entryway. And there was another where a blackboard in a school had been pulled down and it revealed several more behind it. Sometimes builders just build on top of the existing features rather than clear them out and replace the existing ones if it's cheaper or safer (no pun intended).
That's rather touching. I like that.
