I'm watching every single one of their interviews. guess I'm obsessed 😍
Dude, I can't stop nerding out about the impeccable lighting in this move. The scene where she's standing on his porch in a red dress and almost the only highlights are the reflections off her eyes and necklace will live rent-free in my head for years.
I don't expect it to happen, but Inde Navarette deserves an Oscar nomination.
The duct tape scene 😂 Brilliant
nah man some of the stuff in this movie, he had to have gone through it in real life. He nailed some of the most unspoken moments in a relationship like that.
The lead actress' facial expressions would never be so terrifying without that brilliant lighting and cinematography. Even I noticed how good it was.
I think Nikki should pin everything on Bear. He was in the car with Sarah when she was killed, and he was in the house when Ian was killed. He was at every murder scene and I do think a jury might have trouble believing that Nikki had the strength to bash Sarah like that. Bear's finger prints were also on the gun and he was the only one with fingerprints on the pill bottles.
that one wish willow has potential for a whole franchise. You can do so much with making a wish. The whole careful what you wish for thing. It lends itself to horror very well. I assume he has trademarked it.
its easy to miss the point about bear’s wish, which is really the entire point of the movie. so: if you are describing the one wish willow as a “monkey’s paw”, you are wrong. it is not a cursed item that can only deliver a negative version of a wish. when ian wishes for a billion dollars, he simply receives money that falls out of the sky. the male shopkeeper also told bear that he “already got his wish”, and as far as we can tell he seems perfectly content as well. there’s also the fake reddit where one of the posters confirming the one wish willow really works excitedly says his mom used to be ugly and now she’s really hot. the problem with bear’s wish was simply bear’s wish. he didn’t wish for a billion dollars, or to become more attractive. he wished for another living, existing, conscious human being to be changed so she loves him more than “anyone else in the fucking world”. this wish, by its very definition, violates nikki’s autonomy. there is no benign or “good” way to grant this wish. you cannot make a person feel that strongly about another person without literally changing who they are- indeed, changing their entire being. nikki does not love bear more than anyone else in the fucking world. the only way to make her do that is to replace her with another being who does, and have that being drive around in her body. the creature or entity that the wish spawned ended up being depraved and indifferent to humanity because the wish itself was depraved and indifferent to her humanity. the creature is not a “demon”, it is simply a reflection of the wish bear made. an inhuman wish and obsessive desire spawned an inhuman entity with an equally obsessive desire. there is no “oww curse”- the curse is bear’s wish, period.
I’m so interested to see how Nikki agency is transformed because of the Wish. When she Wished for Bear to be with her forever, was that Nikki’s corruption wishing for it? Or another entity? I feel like people automatically assumed Nikki has been passive from the start but she has agency at the start and becomes corrupt because of the one Wish Willow. Yes I agree that the supernatural element plays a big part. I like that Inde clarifies that it’s not a demon, but a wish so it makes me think it’s a distortion of something that was real inside Nikki’s character (feelings for Bear). She did like Bear but it didn’t manifest in time and was corrupted or never happened, emotions play out natural in real relationship not always certain
curry trying the one wish willow prop: I wish everyone loves my movie *crack*
I don’t think he wouldn’t let her go if she said no; he didn’t care about her autonomy because of his fantasy
5:00 me and my two mates watched this, and as the movie went on I literally said to him “bro this feels so real, that’s what’s so fkn creepy about it.” Keep in mind I had no idea what I was getting in to. What it was about, who made it, the type of horror- I just went in blind and walked out traumatised
Legitimately one of the scariest movie experiences I've ever had.
i wonder what they made him take out that was "too far."
Curry mentioned how the money would still be on Ian's floor, but that seemingly contradicts the fact that if someone dies, their wish goes away, so wouldn't Ian's money disappear, or is that a situational thing? Not nitpicking, just wondering if I missed something. Obviously dead Ian wouldn't be a billionaire so I guess that the money could remain, he just couldn't be a billionaire anymore for obvious reasons lol.
This inteview was very interesting, I always saw it as an entity that had possesed Nikki and was pretending to be her.
This is the result of allowing a storyteller to tell the story they feel compelled to tell without trying to water it down and appeal to the largest demographic possible. You get a film that people connect with and see more than once in the theater and the word of mouth enthusiasm becomes the marketing and faith in the film industry gets restored.
This movie was just amazing. The acting was just perfect. I love that they had a small budget because it forced the absolute best performance out of the cast and they really delivered.
I would like this to become maybe a trilogy, not of the same exact thing, but in the same universe with returning characters (only one is Nikki 💀) and she might for example try to stop someone from using the willow, or something like that
