Such a good breakdown of this film. I've only skimmed the surface of the lore and I was blown away by this movie. Mary was such an amazing character.
The endless pit of half rooms could relate to the fact that due to her profession, Mary's mind is full of views into the lives of other people.
Clark went crazy, took the teens into the basement and killed them, Dr Mary also went crazy and got trapped in her backrooms forever.
I honestly think this backrooms adaptation is one of the best backrooms adaptations so far. The original backrooms image feels like somewhere you once were, and if anything I think caused the whole obsession with liminal spaces online. So having it be this space of foggy memories is such a genius explanation, if it’s really 600 million square miles it also leave room for levels and variety.
Not sure if this is something, but Async reminds me of Hsync and Vsync, both of which serve to synchronize timing between pixels in videos. Also, Async as in asynchronous, not dependent on time which calls to the time keeping still in the backrooms
How do you get footage of the movie for this video when it's not out of theaters yet? I just watched a very decent cam and loved the movie.
Reminded me of Enemy, Donnie Darko, and Inception as far as the memories and trauma
Also the new Apartment building on the Billboard is a metaphor for the rooms up and down never ending
When Mary tuned out Phil, you could hear the chimes that Clark placed outside the threshold of both worlds. That tells me that she did escape.
Terrifying movie for myself. I’ve always had a weird unease with man made liminal spaces. So much so I chose a career as a park ranger. So I can be outside and far away from these terrifying places.
I felt like that stressed out monkey gif the entire time they were in the backrooms holy hell 10/10 for amazing film
I do energy audits for commercial spaces, especially lighting. I go through a lot of empty backroom looking places. I'm scared to watch this because of how my job will be after
Lee got his bookshelf from Captain Clarks
Backrooms of your mind My wife said that after we watched the film and I think it’s a huge part of the lore
Wasn't that caption originally not actually from the OG post 🤔 I believe the original post didn't have any caption with it and that sentence was a comment someone left on the post awhile afterwards
It would work really well with remedy’s Control universe, the oldest house works on similar principles
Thank you random YT'er for uploading the whole movie! Got to watch it on my TV and all the food and beer I wanted lmao 😂
I want the 5 min of life back I spent on your slop video
I would love any theories on how/why Clark escaped the laundry chute room when both the employees were killed. To me it felt like a different entity killed the male employee from Clark's copy, mainly because of how the body and guts were dragged through the door rather than having it rush them like in the later scenes
We do see a body, Captain Clarke Is dragging the lifeless body of Clarke on the neighbourhood street
