Nah I don't agree with the nothing burger descriptor. I get it if you don't really care about vibes and stuff, but I LOVE that shit 😭😭. I absolutely adored the chapter this episode adapts when it came out and I still adore it now. The romanticism of riding rainbows, everyone's reactions to the village, and quoting an excerpt from an in-universe explorer with an ominous warning for the rest of the arc!? It's so peak. Starting from Episode 1130 and continuing on for several more episodes after this one, Elbaph has one of the best introductions to any One Piece island.

Calling this episode a nothing burger is insane to me, when it is one of my favorite chapters in the whole arc. Especially the manga, Luffy & Usopp finally seeing Elbaf got me SUPER emotional. It's one of the main reasons I watch One Piece for. But hey, it's your opinion.

to pull back the curtain, oda's very good at time management in most cases. he knows when things will happen and what logically has to occur for them to happen in an order. so, these slower episodes are mostly here to stall the straw hats until the plot arrives.
