In Marco’s case, we can infer that he was bitten in half. Similar thing was shown with Franz and Hannah (if I’m remembering their names right) when Hannah is trying to give him CPR, Armin is trying to tell her to stop and it’s useless because it pans out to Franz’s body, which lower half is actually missing but it gets shadowed and blocked by Hannah.
