I'm so glad that you were able to figuring out this ending and Pucci's motivations instantly, YOU'RE THE GOAT FOR REAL! Just to clarify, it's not any kind of spoiler, part 7-8-9 continuity have nothing to do with this ending or with the universe reset, they are just 2 separate continuities and universes. After Araki wrote this ending in 2004, there were 8 months of silence in which it was thought that jojo really ended with this. But then Araki started publishing Steel Ball Run, which at first wasn't even considered a jojo part (it didnt even have “jojo’s bizarre adventure in the title”), and after 24 chapters published to Shonen Jump, Araki succeeded to move into Ultra Jump, so from a weekly shonen to a monthly seinen. Therefore chapters became longer and thanks to this shift, Araki had the possibility to write a new story no more linked to the previous parts, to improve himself and ended up writing his masterpiece, which is considered on My Anime List the 2nd best manga ever for appreciation (second only to Berserk for few decimals). Araki's and jojo’s popularity grew for this, leading to the possibility of collaborating with a lot of famous brands and even the Louvre thanks to his new amazing artstyle. This year is the 40th anniversary of jojos and part 9 is still ongoing, it's so crazy to think about. In short, not to hype up your expectations, but there's a different quality on steel ball run, for the art, for story, for characters, for the plot, etc... I just hope David Production will live up to the expectations. Here's an interesting thing, Dio was never doing it for humanity, he always wanted to control everything which is why he devised the heaven plan, where as pucci miss understood Dio's intentions and believe that it would be comforting for everyone to know everything that would happen which is why he went though with it, I think it's a cool misunderstanding between the two because it shows pucci is just a guy who thinks he's doing something good, and he's been accidently misaligned by the ultimate evil of dio, but within that at the basic level of their plans they deviate leading to 2 very different philosophies for the purpose of "heaven"
