A small thing that got lost in translation is that Akainu's real name "Sakazuki" is the same word as those cups that Ace, Sabo, and Luffy drank out of to become brothers. So its seeing the words "Ace", "Luffy", and "Sakazuki" in the same place that brought back Sabo's memories.
