"I'm not leaving without the data" Ah yes, the very important data on whether or not the planet with 4,000 feet high tidal waves is habitable or not.
There was no need to lose Doyle. He had plenty of time just watching
That moment when you realize that the wave they see moving away was probably the same wave that destroyed the previous space ship.
"Those aren't mountains... They're waves." Even though I know what's coming, I get shivers every time Matthew McConaughey says it.
It is only 1.4 hours at Millers planet since this epic film got released
The ticking in the soundtrack at the beginning is timed to represent one full day on earth... so cool.
Those waves are actually stationary and raised by the intense gravity of the black hole but “move” due to the planet’s rotation. Spooky!
Doyle didn't have to die, but the plot called for him to stand there and stare like a moron.
7 years per hour. Yes, I have experienced this in business meetings.
Do a re-release of the film in theaters globally for the 10th anniversary. We absolutely need it 🙏
"7 years per hour here. Make a count". Even telling this line costs 5-6 days in earth's time.
Doyle at the shuttle waiting for Brand to get to the shuttle🧍♂️ Also Doyle when everybody was inside the shuttle and he is still outside🧍♂️
Awesome scene. When first watching, I did think at the time, "This planet is orbiting a Black Hole. The TIDES there should be absolutely insane ...." And so they were.
"Doyle, were you a turtle in your past life?" .... "Yes."
That movie is a masterpiece. Once you know what the ticking sound stands for you are getting goosebumps.
I timed it. Doyle had ten full seconds to enter the craft after Brand went in. This is the opposite of plot armor.
3:59 My biggest regret is not watching this masterpiece in a theatre.
Hmm, no one on the comment section gave props to Hans Zimmer's incredible music for this scene? The tick tock effect, and the gradual organ gently coming into the mix, with a slow accelerando, until the beautiful reveal of the massive wave. The organ in this scene is incredible, combined with the slow glissando down to the E pedal tone was amazing.
i dont understand how they didnt have an extereme sense of urgency the entire time right out the gate... 7 years per hour is an alarming amount of time being lost to just be talking and walking around
Buddy had 3 business days to get back but wanted to tailgate.
