Who are we kidding? We could pick any four scenes in this movie and they would be the “scenes that make the Godfather the greatest movie of all time”. It’s a masterpiece from beginning to end. Pure movie perfection.

The greatness of 1 & 2 is that they don't really sink in until they are watched more than once. It's hard to explain to someone who has seen them only once.

Simply the best. The tension, the drama, the acting, the scores, cinematography, everything. Timeless.

I seen all 3 Godfather movies, enjoyed them very much. Michael loved his father very much, also his wives & children. My favorite scene in Godfather I is Vito & Michael talking in the backyard, women & children can be careless but not men- that scene makes me cry, realizing time with those you love the most is very important.

There’s a saying that goes “never say never” , but I’m willing to say “There will NEVER be an attempt to remake The Godfather I & II”. The GREATEST MOVIES OF ALL TIME!

The best scene in the Godfather I is the hospital scene when Michael gets there late to visit his father. That is the scene where it is shown that he, not Santino, not Fredo, should be the old man's successor. He arrives and right away senses something is wrong. No guards anywhere and signs that the ones that were there left in a hurry. He sees that pop is unhurt so far but all alone. Without hesitation, he springs into action and does everything necessary in the right order. First, he calls for help, second, he moves the old man so that, if the bad guys come before help arrives, they won't know where he is, then, when Enzo the baker arrives, Michael improvises and takes advantage of Enzo's willingness to help by making it appear from the street like the old man is still being protected. By the way, Enzo will be taken care of lavishly by the Corleone family for the rest of his life.

Howard Hawks was once asked, "What makes a good movie?" & he said, "Three great scenes and no bad scenes." Four great scenes clearly moves a film from being good to being great.

I watch God Father in 1980 first when I was 15 years old. Now I watch at least once every month. What a movie. Unparalleled script and screen play.

Finally watched Godfather I in Netflix last April, been hearing about it since I was a kid and now I understand why it’s been referenced a lot. It doesn’t feel like a movie, it’s like seeing someone’s family life unfolds before your eyes, as if a camera just happened to be there. The acting and subtle details makes it so natural.

I think the scene where he kicked out the girls Fredo arranged for him before meeting Moe Greene, and then scolding Fredo not to stand against the family was kick arse too.

The Godfather is a MASTERPIECE!

Fun fact: FFC and Puzo both wanted Pacino as Michael, but the studio wanted a bigger name, mainly Robert Redford. So Coppola decided to film the dinner scene with Sollozzo first. He knew that Pacino's performance in that scene would convince the studio execs that he was the right pick. The rest, as they say, is history.

Yep still the best movie i ever saw I never get tired watching it

Michael would have been a lot better off if Appolonia had lived and been his wife….She understood the Sicilian ways.

I can watch this movie any number of times...and come back for more...!!!
