Scootin to Spots 59 Monday! Monday! For the first spot of the night I made my way down to the Monday staple @tonyvscomedygarage. As I walked in I told the man himself, Tony V, how at home I feel like at this mic and how this mic has helped me get better at comedy he said thanks and dapped me up and then proceeded to tell about the two beers and nachos special they had for $20. Great deal for any nacho lovers but last night I only had appetite to get some new material out on New Material Monday. The crowd gave love to all the comics in the first half of the show which included myself. Would have love to stay but my brother @therealdukeperalta and @theinappropriatecontent had plans to hit @thelocal907pub for spot 2. If I go two Mondays without taking the pilgrimage down to Renton to bask in some @thelocal907pub glory, I start having Renton withdrawals. Being the longest running open mic in the state there is nothing like it. The crowd will give you all the laughs in the world but you gotta earn it with energy and confidence. I went up with newly written jokes that did okay at spot 1 and boy did Renton love it. Seeing people stop what they are doing a willingly lock in and cackle with new material I just wrote a few days ago has to be top 5 euphoric sensation in the world. I’m still replaying the set in my head and getting little bumps of glee. Thank you @thelocal907pub for existing and giving us comedians a beast to try to conquer every Monday night. I noticed at both spots, the patrons were hardworking folks that wanted a release after a full shift (or two) of work. It felt good realizing I’m part of a group of people who specializes in easing the mental pain of society through our poorly written jokes. I love comedy. It’s the greatest thing in the world. I thank god every day for directing me to pursue it.
